Frequently Asked Questions
It is a formal relationship between an established 501(c)(3) and a charitable project. Under our Model C structure we may receive charitable contributions designated to support an approved project, then make grants from those funds for the project's approved charitable activities. The project stays independently operated and responsible for its own work.
New charitable projects not ready to form their own nonprofit, grassroots community programs, animal welfare and rescue initiatives, equality and community support projects, youth and mentorship programs, re-entry and community assistance programs, short-term projects, and organizations working toward their own 501(c)(3) recognition. Each one is reviewed and must be approved before it participates.
Sponsorship does not create an attorney-client, employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship unless a separate written agreement expressly says so. Sponsored projects stay responsible for obtaining their own legal, tax, insurance, licensing and professional advice. It is also not the rental of our nonprofit status or our EIN.
Yes. There is an administrative fee that covers donation processing, accounting, financial oversight, compliance, reporting, recordkeeping and administration. The applicable fee and any additional service charges are disclosed to you before a sponsorship agreement is signed, so nothing about the cost arrives as a surprise later.
Keep appropriate records, use funds only for approved charitable purposes, follow applicable law, and provide the financial and program information we ask for. We reserve the right to decline expenditures, withhold or restrict grants, require further documentation, or end a sponsorship where that is necessary to protect charitable assets. Supporters can also help through our giving options.
Tell us about the project, its leadership, mission, activities, anticipated budget, and fundraising plans. We review whether the activities are charitable and consistent with our exempt purposes, present qualifying projects for approval, and then put a written agreement in place. Fundraising begins once sponsorship is active.
